The off-spinner Nathan Lyon, who was on the receiving end after missing out a golden opportunity to ran out Jack Leach in the third Test, twisted his Ankle thus ruling out of the tour game against Derbyshire. However, it is declared that the flamboyant cricketer would be fine for the fourth Test at Old Trafford.

Australia spinner Nathan Lyon walked off from his team’s training session after getting slightly injured. Surprisingly, there is no other off-spinner in the squad to replace him if he gets injured. The other spinner in the lineup for Australia would be John Holland, who played for Australia – A. Such has been his consistency over the years, as Australia never looked any other off-spinner to replace him.

While confirming that the 31-year-old has picked up an ankle issue, Australia are not worried that it will affect his involvement at Old Trafford. ‘A bit of a scare for the Aussies at training today, but (Lyon) is all good,’ Cricket Australia tweeted.

In the three matches that Lyon has played, he has picked 14 wickets at an average of 31.92, an economy rate of 3 and a strike rate of 63.8. Lyon had played an instrumental role in an Australian victory in the first Test at Edgbaston. Unfortunately, he missed an easy run-out, which would have given an unassailable lead to Australia in the prestigious series.
