One of the youngsters, who cemented his position in the Indian National Cricket Team in the recent past is Navdeep Saini. The young fast bowler impressed one and all with his express pace and also received his maiden call for the overseas Test tour. Speaking of the same with Mohammed Shami, Saini calls it a dream come true moment for him.
When New Zealand offered a green pitch to India at Seddon Park, India’s scoreboard read three for five after Scott Kuggeleijn sent the openers and Gill back to the hut in the first seven overs during the recently-held three-day practice game.
Given the home conditions, it appeared like the upcoming Test series would be dominated by the Kiwis. However, once the ball came in the hands of the visiting side’s fast bowling unit, the scenario changed.
Shami, Jasprit Bumrah, Umesh Yadav and Saini sent warning signals to the Black Caps as they exploited the bowler-friendly conditions in Hamilton to bundle New Zealand out for 235 at the end of Day 2, sharing nine wickets among themselves.

Now, with the first Test set to begin from Thursday in Wellington, Saini spoke to fellow fast bowler Shami and talked about the moment which changed his life.
Shami, who turned host in a video uploaded by BCCI on their website introduced the Indian bowler.
“Firstly, thank you. I am glad for whatever level I am able to reach. It’s everyone’s dream to reach this level. It was my dream as well, which has now been fulfilled. I want to carry this further. When I was selected for the Indian team, it was like a dream come true for me,” Saini said.
“I started playing at a local level, and then I moved on to Ranji. From there, to become a part of the Indian national team, it was a life-changing moment for me. It’s my first overseas tour with the Indian team. The Blue Springs is really beautiful. I am a very quiet person by nature, so I enjoy this atmosphere,” he said.

Well, it would be interesting to see whether he gets the nod or not. With Ishant Sharma confirming his fitness to play the game, most likely, Saini will be benched unless any last-minute injuries to one of the four front line fast bowlers.
