Nepal captain and their batting mainstay Paras Khadka has carved his own place in history by achieving an incredible feat Virat Kohli or Rohit Sharma couldn’t achieve. Paras Khadka became the first cricketer in international cricket to score a century as captain while chasing. Paras Khadka scored an unbeaten knock of 106 runs to help Nepal thrash Singapore in a T20I tri-series.
Khadka’s unbeaten ton helped Nepal chase down the competitive 152-run target with utmost ease. Nepal crossed the finish line with four overs to spare. Paras Khadka smashed seven boundaries and nine sixes in his 52-ball knock at the Indian Association Ground in Singapore.

With the century, Paras Khadka also joined an elite club of captains that have scored a hundred in T20I cricket. Overall, he became the fifty captain to score a T20I century. He, however, is the first one to do so while batting second in a T20I match. The other players who scored tons as captains are Aaron Finch, Shane Watson, Faf du Plessis, Tillakaratne Dilshan and Rohit Sharma.

Rohit Sharma has scored a record four tons in the shortest format of the game. Two of them came while he was leading the side in Virat Kohli’s absence. He played an 118-run knock against Sri Lanka in Indore in 2017 and then in 2018 a 111 (not out) against the West Indies in Lucknow.
On the other hand, Kohli, who is the leading run-scorer in T20Is, is yet to reach the three-figure mark in T20Is.
