In latest developments on the ICC’s Team rankings, four new entries, Nepal, Scotland, the United Arab Emirates, and the Netherlands have found their space in the expanded ranking list.

According to the last MRF Tyres ICC ODI Team Rankings, effective from 1 June 2018, the four emerging sides are placed alongside the top 12 cricket playing nations.

After the recent ICC World Qualifiers of 2018, India’s immediate neighbour, Nepal, got the coveted ODI status.

Also, Scotland were favourites to qualify for the marquee World event next year in the United Kingdom.

This means that the four new teams will now get an opportunity to clash against the top teams frequently.

Moreover, their point ratings will be monitored, along with the heavyweights of world cricket.

Netherland was disappointing in the tournament, whereas players from the UAE displayed immense promise. It was during the last year’s ICC World Cricket League Championship, that the Dutch received their ODI status.

Scotland has been ranked in 13th place on 28 points – 10 points behind 12th ranked Ireland – while the UAE is another 10 points behind on 18 in 14th position.

In the recent ODI rankings, it is England who dethrones India to occupy the top position in the elite table.
