The decision from the ICC came after the Event Panel of the 2018 ICC Women’s World Twenty20 Qualifiers confirmed the fact that the bowler had an unusual action which is deemed illegal as per the bowling laws under ICC.
The 21-year old young bowler got reported for suspect bowling action on 7th July. She was playing in a World Cup Qualifier game against the United Arab Emirates. It was UAE who won the match by six wickets last Saturday. The matches of the tournament did not get televised.
Hence she was reported in the next match against Bangladesh after her action was filmed. Under Article 3.6.2, the action was deemed illegal.

Video footages deemed her action illegal
The video footages of her bowling were provided to the Event Panel which consists of Mark Kings and Richard Done for further analysis and assessment. After thoroughly going through her action, the Event Panel deemed the action illegal.
In accordance with Article 6.7 of the ICC regulations of bowling, Rijke got suspended from bowling with immediate effect.
She will remain suspended from all forms for cricket until she submits an assessment of her bowling action at an ICC approved centre where bowling action test is held.
The assessment says her bowling action illegal. Hence it would take significant time for her to resume bowling again. Netherlands will play their next match against Papua New Guinea at the VRA Cricket Ground in Amstelveen on Tuesday.
