Former Australian skipper Michael Clarke believes one should never underestimate the importance of MS Dhoni in the Indian middle order. Dhoni was rested from the final two One Day Internationals against Australia and India went on to lose the series by 3-2. Meanwhile, India lacks the experience in the middle order without the services of MS Dhoni.

Thus, Clarke believes it is crucial to have experience in the middle order. Meanwhile, MS Dhoni has returned back to form. The right-hander had scored three back to back fifties on the Australia tour.

Dhoni has all the experience under his belt.

The experienced batsman had scored 193 runs in the three-match ODI series which helped him get the Man of the series award. Furthermore, Dhoni was able to carry forward his good form going.

The talisman batsman also scored a good knock of 59 runs which helped India in winning the first ODI at Hyderabad. However, Dhoni was rested from the final two ODIs as Rishabh Pant took over the baton of wicketkeeping.

Subsequently, India went on to miss the services of MS Dhoni as his experience was deeply missed. Furthermore, Rishabh Pant could not deliver the goods behind the stumps as he had let go of a wicketkeeping chance in the fourth ODI at Mohali.

Meanwhile, MS is going to play a key role in India’s World Cup squad. The veteran wicketkeeper-batsman has all the experience under his belt and his shrewd mind is going to play a big role for the Virat Kohli-led side. Dhoni will like to be at the top of his game in the World Cup. Furthermore, the gloveman has done a great job behind the stumps.

Michael Clarke took to Twitter to share his thoughts. Clarke post read as, “Never underestimate the importance of MSD- experience in the middle order is so important”.
