New South Wales Bowl Out South Australia For Just 10

One knows that the team has done disastrously when extras outscore every batter in the side. And something similar happened for the South Australia women’s side. The team was all out for just ten as they suffered a humiliating loss on day two of the Australia’s National Indigenous Cricket Championships on Tuesday.

Ten of the South Australia batters even failed to open their accounts as New South Wales absolutely demolished their opponents.

It could have been much worse for South Australia had they not received six runs in extras. The only batter to score runs was opener Febu Mansell who scored four. With South Australia proving no match for New South Wales, the T20 game lasted for just 79 deliveries. South Africa’s innings lasted for just 10.2 overs. Mansell scored her four runs off  33 balls while her 10 teammates managed to face only 28 balls between them.

For New South Wales, Roxsanne Van-Veen starred with the ball. She finished the game the stunning figures of two overs, one maiden, five wickets for one run. The one run she did concede was from a wide. Opening bowler Julie Muir took two wickets as did Naomi Woods — with the only two balls she bowled in the innings. With the New South Wales bowlers being on a target,  six of the South Australian batters were bowled while two other fell victim to lbw.

In reply, New South Wales took just 17 balls to reach a match-winning total of 11 while losing two wickets. Mansell once again stood out for South Australia, picking up both New South Wales wickets to fall during the chase.

The loss, meanwhile, has further extended South Australia’s poor run in the tournament. This was their second loss of the competition after they started it with a 102-run defeat to the Northern Territory. In that match, the Northern Territory had scored 188 for 5 while the Southern Australians had managed to score just 86 for 9.
