In reply, India started with Rajneesh Gurbani and Navdeep Saini while Kiwis opened their innings with George Worker and Will Young.  Though the first spell didn’t see any wickets, it was Siraj, who gave the breakthrough by getting the edge of Worker.

Then it was Krishnappa Gowtham, who disturbed the stumps of Will Young to put India in the driver seat. However, Tim Seifert batted beautifully to put Indians at bay with his gutsy knock.

He smashed an unbeaten 55 to his name in support with Glenn Philips’ 27. Just when things looked bleak for India, Siraj once again struck by knocking out Philips from the crease. However, Rachin Ravindra hung in the middle to avoid further hiccups.
