New Zealand vs India 2020: 2nd ODI, Auckland – Match Prediction; After a high-scoring game in the first ODI, the action shifts to Auckland for the second ODI of the series. Both the teams have enough reasons to give their all for the second game on Saturday.
After an emphatic run chase in the first ODI, New Zealand eye a series win over India as both teams face off in the second game on Saturday. Although India put up a strong total of 347, the Kiwis aced the run chase with Ross Taylor and Tom Latham starring for them. With momentum on their side, the Kiwis will hope for more of the same although they should expect a much better performance from the Indians.
With the momentum that the Indian team was carrying into the ODI series, the result of the first game was somewhat unexpected. However, considering the fact that the last three games of the T20I series were decided by small margins, New Zealand knew they had got the tools to beat India.
Although India has a relatively inexperienced opening duo in Shaw and Agarwal, they are well-equipped in the batting unit with Iyer, Kohli and Rahul registering 50+ scores in the previous game.
Navdeep Saini might get the nod:
Their bowling attack leaked runs in Hamilton with Shami and Kuldeep proving expensive. Nevertheless, they will hope to come up with a better show. Navdeep Saini had excelled with the ball in the last couple of games of the ODI series against Australia, but the Indian team management still went with Shardul Thakur in Hamilton who proved to be really expensive.
One change is expected from the Kiwis with Ish Sodhi not available for this game. One of Kyle Jamieson or Scott Kuggleijn should feature with Jamieson being the favourite to get the nod.
New Zealand vs India 2020: 2nd ODI, Auckland – Match Prediction –
Both the teams showed their calibre in the middle to put fans on edge of their seats. Once again, the clash on Saturday will be a massive affair with both the teams having enough knowledge about the conditions. Toss will play a crucial role, as the team chasing the score will fancy their chances to win.
New Zealand would be very high on confidence having got over the line in Hamilton. However, the Virat Kohli-led side won’t let the game that easily when it comes to do-or-die situations. The prediction is for India to win the game and level the series to 1-1.
