Team India are currently taking on New Zealand in the fifth and final T20I. The Men in Blue have already sealed the five-match series after winning the first four games. After making light work of the hosts in the first two games, India were stretched in the next two games.

The fifth match could have the series-decider if New Zealand had managed to hold their nerves in the last two games. However, they made a mess of it. In the third T20I, Mohammed Shami defended three runs from the final five balls to force a super over before Shardul Thakur defended seven runs in the last over of the fourth T20I to force another super over. India went on to win both the games.

New Zealand players have only pride to play for in the ongoing game while India will be eyeing a monumental whitewash. At the time of writing this report, New Zealand were reeling at 28 for 3 while chasing 164 to avoid the whitewash.

The Pink Zinc:

At the start of the match, New Zealand players sprung a big surprise by sporting pink colour on their face. At first, it looked like some of the players had just applied sunscreen. However, all the New Zealand players were seen sporting the pink colour on their faces.

Well, it was for a special cause. It was New Zealand men team’s way of supporting the White Ferns, the women’s New Zealand team ahead of the T20 World Cup. New Zealand fans have been requested to sport the pink zinc on their faces in order to support the women’s team for the marquee event.

ANZ, the official sponsors of New Zealand cricket, has requested the fans to either visit their branch to pick up the free zinc or use the supporter filter on Facebook.
