Former Indian batsman VVS Laxman has picked the team who will win the upcoming ODI series between India and New Zealand. India will take on New Zealand in a three-match ODI series. The first game of the series will take place on 5th February at Seddon Park, Hamilton.

India will look to avenge the World Cup semi-final defeat against the Kiwis. However, New Zealand faced utter humiliation by the hands of India when the latter clean swept them 5-0 at their home in the recently concluded T20I series. KL Rahul was awarded the Man of the Series for his contribution with the bat and the gloves. Virat Kohli also became the captain with most bilateral T20 series wins (10) after playing at least 15 T20I series.

VVS Laxman Predicts The ODI Series Winner

Former Indian batsman VVS Laxman has now predicted the winner of the New Zealand vs India ODI series. Speaking in the post-match show on Star Sports, Laxman has said that India will clean sweep the ODI series 3-0. This is indeed a bold statement from the veteran batsman. However, the Kiwi demolition by the men in blue in the T20 series hints that India could go on to clean sweep the ODI series as well.

Meanwhile, the squads of both the teams have been declared for the ODI series. For New Zealand, Trent Boult, Lockie Ferguson, and Matt Henry will not be a part as they are injured at the moment. Team India also has some worries as Rohit Sharma pulled off a calf injury while batting in the fifth T20I.

The extent of his injury has not been revealed yet and Shikhar Dhawan is already missing because of injury. If Rohit Sharma will not be available for the first ODI, fans could see youngster Prithvi Shaw opening the batting for India along with KL Rahul.
