New Zealand and the West Indies will clash on a blockbuster Friday that also has England and South Africa and India and Australia battle in different parts of the continent. As they have introduced the new kits for their upcoming T20I series, the two powerhouses will also seek to draw first blood. It would also be the Black Caps’ first outing since March while the West Indies were one of the first ones to resume international cricket in July.

The first of the three T20Is begins in Auckland following which they will also clash in two Tests. The hosts, whose key players, namely, Trent Boult and Kane Williamson, have been rested for the T20 series, owing to their roles in IPL 2020 while they also have injury concerns in Colin De Grandhomme and Ajaz Patel as the former will miss the Tests. However, they still have competent reinforcements and could continue to enjoy a successful home season.

On the other hand, the West Indies have spent in New Zealand for more than 15 days now, trying to acclimatize to the conditions. They announced their squad on the 16th of October for both the formats. The Caribbeans have been in tremendous form in the shortest version, beating Sri Lanka back in March in the T20 series. However, they need to improve themselves in Test cricket and the Kiwis would indeed provide a massive challenge.
