Australian fast bowler Jhye Richardson is one of the promising quick bowlers in the country, having represented the national team in all the formats. The tearaway quick bowler entered the IPL auction for the first time in 2021 and set his base price at INR 1.5 crores. The Western Australian was part of Australia’s squad that won the limited-overs leg in India in early 2019 and played a vital role in the cause, replacing the experienced Nathan Coulter-Nile.

Jhye Richardson undoubtedly stands a hefty chance of receiving bids in the auction since he ended the latest edition of Big Bash League as the highest wicket-taker. The 24-year old picked up 29 wickets in 17 matches at 16.31 that played a crucial part in Perth Scorchers reaching the finals. While Richardson picked two wickets in the final, he also went expensive, conceding 45 runs in four overs as the Scorchers lost to Sydney Sixers by 27 runs.

Jhye Richardson joins Kings XI Punjab as picked up in IPL 2021 Auction:

After an intense bidding war, Jhye Richardson went to the Kings XI Punjab. The Punjab-based franchsie has indeed accumulated a potent pace attack that includes Mohammed Shami, Ishan Porel, Chris Jordan, and Arshdeep Singh. Hence, Richardson should prove as an exceptional addition to them and would be significant to their chances in a bid for their maiden title in IPL 2021.
