Former England batsman Nick Compton picked up a star-studded Test XI while speaking to Dr Yash Kashikar on his Instagram live show ‘Say Yash To Sports’. Indian players were a plenty in the line-up which looked like a formidable Test XI, seemingly with the potential of forming a World Test XI in the near future.

Compton played 16 Tests for England before calling time on his international career. He has scored 775 runs at an average nearly 29 with the high score of 117. The right-handed batsman also notched up two centuries and as many half centuries in the format.

Nick Compton picks up David Warner and Cheteshwar Pujara as his openers

Compton went with the combination of aggression and stability in his line-up. He picked up premier Australia batsman David Warner and calm-composed Indian Cheteshwar Pujara as his openers. New Zealand captain Kane Williamson and record-breaking machines Virat Kohli and Steve Smith then follow the suit.

All-rounder Ben Stokes and his teammate Jonny Bairstow, who is the wicket-keeper batsman, are next up in the order. He, interestingly, could not pick up one between Nathan Lyon and Ravichandran Ashwin with Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc and Jasprit Bumrah as his fast bowling options.

Nick Compton current Test XI: David Warner, Cheteshwar Pujara, Kane Williamson, Virat Kohli, Steve Smith, Ben Stokes, Jonny Bairstow (WK), Nathon Lyon/R Ashwin, Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Jasprit Bumrah.
