Nidahas Trophy 2018: Rubel Hossain apologises to fans after poor show with the ball

Bangladesh fast bowler Rubel Hossain has apologised to fans for failing to contain the Indian batsmen especially Dinesh Karthik. It was 19th over of Indian innings which has changed the complexion of the game.
As Team India was celebrating the victory, Hossain was dejected after going for plenty in the grand-finale of Tri-series on Sunday (March 18).
Pertinently, Hossain took to his official Facebook page to type the heart-melting message. He was gutted after India lift the title with four wickets in hand.
India further continued domination over Bangladesh by winning eight consecutive games.
However, Hossain wrote in Bangla while being straightforward that they didn’t expect to come close to the victory.
Having the massive fan-following, the post has already garnered 41k likes 5.5k shares and 13k comments.
“I have been feeling depressed after the match. We never thought that we will come so close to winning the match and then lose it. I apologize to everyone. Please forgive us,” Hossain wrote on his Facebook page.
Interestingly, Soumya Sarkar was asked to bowl the 20th over. Rohit Sharma had led India’s second-string team. The Men-in-Blue script the history owing to a memorable victory.
Hossain conceded four boundaries and two sixes and three boundaries following brilliant over from Mustafizur Rehman.
Following the last-ball thriller, Rubel Hossain was lambasted by the Bangladeshi fans which further saw him taking to the social media platform.
Moreover, at one stage Bangladesh was in complete control when India was 133 for five. However, Karthik’s pyrotechnics has changed the whole scenario of the game.
Hossain, 28, conceded 22 runs in the penultimate over of Indian innings of the Twenty20 International Nidahas Trophy 2018 final. It further saw the Men in Blue required 12 off the final over.
Wicketkeeper-batsman Karthik smashed unbeaten 29 off eight balls which further saw him dispatching the ball over boundary ropes. India required five of a solitary delivery when right-handed Karthik flexed muscles in a nail-biting finish at R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
Earlier, Bangladesh batted first and posted the fighting total of 166 in 20 overs. However, India went on to chase down the total on the final delivery with the masterstroke from Karthik.
Making things more comfortable for Karthik, Hossain kept on bowling in former’s zone to see the ball going past the padded-up boundary line.
