Nitish Rana looks in brilliant form as he continues to guide Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) to post a challenging total against Delhi Capitals in the IPL 2020 clash on Saturday. Rana brought up his 10th IPL half-century at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi and dedicated the milestone to his late father-in-law.

Rana was sent out to open by the KKR franchise who have tried different batting formations throughout the IPL 2020 but have failed to find stability. His opening partner Shubman Gill, who took guard to face the first ball of the match, was sent packing by in-form fast bowler Anrich Nortje for nine runs off eight deliveries.

Soon after reaching his half-century, Rana pulled out a jersey with ‘Surinder’ etched in it. Commentator for the official broadcasters Jatin Sapru confirmed on-air that it was in memory of his late father-in-law Surinder Marwah who lost battle to cancer yesterday. Rana is married to Saachi Marwah.

At the time of publishing the article, Rana is batting on 65 runs off 45 deliveries, as he has kept the Delhi Capitals bowlers at bay. His innings is laced with 10 boundaries and one hit over the fence as KKR have scored 170/4 at the end of 18 overs.
