No Other Cricketer Has Served Indian Cricket Better Than MS Dhoni - Kapil Dev

Former World Cup-winning captain Kapil Dev believes no other cricketer has served Indian cricket better than MS Dhoni. The former Indian skipper has been a huge servant of the India National Cricket Team. Dhoni has been instrumental in the success of the team over the years and has done a fine job for Team India.

Dhoni had also led his team to glory in the T20I World Cup in 2007, 50-overs World Cup 2011 and Champions Trophy 2013. The talisman had led with aplomb in his captaincy tenure and always backed the youngsters to get the best of them.

Meanwhile, MS Dhoni wasn’t in the best of forms in 2018. However, he was able to turn the tables in 2019 as he has batted at the top of his game. Furthermore, Dhoni is in sublime form in the ongoing Indian Premier League as he has scored 314 runs in seven innings at a Bradman-Esque average of 104.67.

Speaking to IANS, Kapil said, “I don’t have to say anything about Dhoni. I think he has served the country very well and we must respect him”.

“No one knows how long he wants to play and how long his body can continue to take the workload. But, there is no other cricketer who has served the country so well as Dhoni. We should respect him and wish him good luck. I hope that he wins this World Cup too”.

Meanwhile, Kapil Dev believes it is not going to be easy for Virat Kohli’s men to win the World Cup in England and Wales. The former talisman all-rounder believes that the Indian team will need to come up with collective efforts to go all the way in the upcoming quadrennial event.

“This Indian team looks very good. However, it won’t be very easy. They have to play like a team. I hope that they will have no injuries. If they have a stroke of luck, they will definitely win”.

On the other hand, Kapil Dev also gave his opinion on the side which was selected by the selectors. The Haryana Hurricane believes it is crucial to respect the decision of the selectors.

Commenting on the move, Kapil said, “The selectors have done their job. Let’s respect the team. They have picked Karthik over Pant, then it’s alright. We should just believe that the selectors have done a good job.

India will begin their World Cup campaign against South Africa on June 5th at Southampton.
