Virat Kohli, who makes record breaking look easy, did not find a place in Pakistan batsman Fakhar Zaman’s all-time Twenty20 (T20) XI, which includes the likes of AB de Villiers, Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah.
Virat Kohli’s brilliant run in shortest format
Kohli averages a magnificent 50.80 in the Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is). Though he is yet to score a century in the shortest format, with the high score of an unbeaten 94, Kohli has been a destructive batsman in the T20Is.
In 2019, Virat Kohli finished as the highest run scorer in T2oIs, with 2794 runs under his belt. His teammate Rohit Sharma was second on the list with 2773 runs from 108 matches.
However, it is unclear, why Kohli could not make a cut into Zaman’s all-time T20 XI. Zaman, himself, averages 22.90 in the shortest format with the high score of 91. Though, he has been a regular for Pakistan in T20s, his batting has hardly been over par.
Two Indians in Fakhar Zaman’s all-time T20 XI
Premier batsman Rohit Sharma and fast bowler are the only two Indians to feature in Zaman’s all-time T20 XI. Sharma has been paired along side former South Africa batsman AB de Villiers as an opener while Bumrah is one of the two fast bowlers picked up by Zaman.
England’s hard-hitting batsman Jason Roy comes in one down for the Zaman XI while his countryman Shoaib Malik is at No.4.
Zaman has picked up England’s Jos Buttler as his wicket-keeper batsman, with power-hitter Glen Maxwell given the role of a finisher.
Premier all-rounders Ben Stokes and Kieron Pollard will only add depth to his eleven.
Among the specialist bowling options, Zaman has picked Mitchell Starc and Bumrah as his fast bowlers with Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan — the lone spinner.
Here is Fakhar Zaman’s All-time T20 XI:
AB de Villiers, Rohit Sharma, Jason Roy, Shoaib Malik, Jos Buttler (WK), Glenn Maxwell, Ben Stokes, Kieron Pollard, Mitchell Starc, Jasprit Bumrah, Rashid Khan.
