No Possibility Of Hosting Day-Night Game Sees Tri-Series Having 10 AM Starts

The decision of BCCI to organise the T20I tri-series in Mumbai early morning was a big surprise.
Never in Indian cricket BCCI has staged a T20I game having a 10:00 AM start.
Apart from the turnout out fans, it also affects players as early morning starts give undue advantage to bowlers.
As per a report in mid-day, the Brabourne Stadium could not host a day/night game, the reason why the board decided to organise the matches early remaining,
“It’s a private club. There was no possibility of having matches under lights. Then, the team that is not playing on the following day would want a practice session. So, that session can be scheduled in the afternoon, immediately after the match,” an official told mid-day.
Since the afternoon game in Mumbai was not something which any of the team would have liked, the board decided to organise an early morning game.
In what looks like, the series could have been played at Wankhede Stadium, but the Mumbai T20 league concluded yesterday (March 21) which meant that it could not have been considered as a venue.
Also, with Mumbai Indians kicking off their practice camp soon, the venue was never in contention.
Hence, the Brabourne Stadium was allocated the games; which forced early morning starts as well.
Meanwhile, India lost the first game of the tri-series to Australia by six wickets.

After winning the toss, Australia women straightaway chose to bowl to take the early morning advantage.
They stopped India on a total of 152.
Coming into bat, they lost two wickets on 29 and seemed to be in a bit of worry.
However, the run-rate never came down, and Australia romped to a win by six wickets with 11 balls to spare.
Australia now faces England tomorrow (March 23) in the second game of the T20I tri-series at the same venue.
