Number Of Players From Each Country In IPL 2020 Auction

The upcoming IPL 2020 Auction is going to be a massive event with as many as 971 players registering their name for the tournament. However, there are only 73 spots up for the grabs, which means that there will be a lot of work to do for the auctioneer and the franchise owners on December 9th.

Recently, a total of 127 cricketers, including 35 overseas players, were retained. Franchises like Kolkata Knight Riders, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Rajasthan Royals let go off a bunch of cricketers. The other respective teams retained the core of the group to have limited-cum-useful buys during IPL 2020 Auction.

713 Indian players registered for IPL 2020 Auction:

In total, 634 of the 971 are uncapped Indian players while 60 are uncapped Indian players who have played at least one match in the cash-rich league. Apart from those, 60 other players are uncapped overseas players while there are 196 capped international players in the fray. Nineteen capped Indian players are in the list while two players are from associate nations.

“The VIVO IPL Player Registration closed on 30th November with 971 players (713 Indian and 258 overseas players) signing up to be a part of the VIVO IPL 2020 Player Auction set to take place in Kolkata on 19th December 2019.”

Getting into the details of each country players participating in the auction, it will be 55 Australian players in the sale while South Africa comes close with 54 players. They are followed by 39 Sri Lankan players, 34 West Indies players, 24 players from New Zealand, 22 England players and 19 players from Afghanistan.

From Bangladesh, six players registered their name while three players from Zimbabwe and one from the USA. Meanwhile, Hugh Edmeades will once again be the auctioneer. A lot of talented players are on the chart which will make for an exciting round of bidding at the auction.
