On Friday, Nuwan Zoysa told the reporters that he was in shock to learn that ICC has released a statement that found him guilty. The former Sri Lanka bowling coach pleaded not guilty and denied all the charges laid down by the ICC.

As quoted by Hindustan Times, Nuwan Zoysa said, “It was shock for me when I was made aware that ICC had gone onto release a press statement saying that I have been found guilty of the charges that I have never committed.”

The 42-year-old also said that the ICC investigators spoke to him in English which he couldn’t understand and he was not allowed to answer in his native Sinhala language.

Zoysa has been charged under the Emirates Cricket Board Anti-Corruption Code, details of which will be revealed in further hearings.

In a statement, ICC said, “Zoysa has also been charged by the ICC on behalf of the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) with breaching four counts of the ECB anti-corruption code for participants for the T10 League and these proceedings are ongoing.”

The Colombo-born seamer played 30 Tests and 95 ODIs for Sri Lanka in which he picked 64 and 108 wickets, respectively. He has also served as Sri Lanka’s bowling coach. The former pacer claimed a hat-trick against Zimbabwe in the 1999 Harare Test.
