Australian national cricket team are brimming with confidence in the form of tasting wins of late. They had recently played against Pakistan in three T20Is and two Tests. However, they managed to win both the series with relative ease. The first T20I was called off without a ball being bowled due to rain. However, the hosts won back-to-back games to seal the T20I series in a grand fashion.

Following the success in the shorter format, Australia carried out the impetus in the longest format. The hosts won by an innings and 5 runs in Brisbane Test and then followed it up with 48-run innings victory in The Adelaide Oval, thereby registering a 2-0 clean sweep over the visitors. Australia are the second-best team right now and are ranked behind India in the ICC Test Championship points table with as many as 176 points to their credit.

It is worth mentioning here that India are dominating the ICC Test Championship better than any other team. They are chipping in with wins quite easily well inside three days. They outsmarted West Indies, South Africa and Bangladesh in all facets of the game and garnered 360 points to their name. They have also not lost a single match in this Test championship.

Meanwhile, former England captain Michael Vaughan reckons that Australia are a tough team to beat at the moment in their own backyard. He also highlighted that only India have all the ingredients to stop Australia. “This Australian Team in these conditions are going to take some beating … Only @BCCI #India have the tools to do so at this stage in my opinion … #AUSvPAK,” Michael Vaughan tweeted while adding that India have the weapons to outsmart Australia in the overseas conditions.
