The twelfth edition of the World Cup is just over a month away. All the ten participating teams will be desperate to give their all as they look to lay their hands on the coveted World Cup trophy. This year’s format will see each team playing against each other once in a round-robin format. The top four teams will then make it to the semifinals. The much-awaited tournament will get underway on May 30 with hosts England South Africa taking on South Africa. This is the fifth time England is hosting the competition.

Only one Indian in the form of Sachin Tendulkar made it to the list. With 4 players, Australia, the most successful team in the history of the World Cup, has the most number of players in the team. Pakistan is second with two names while Sri Lanka has two. South Africa and surprisingly West Indies have just one name each in the team.

Tendulkar has been given the role of opener alongside former Australia opener Adam Gilchrist. Former Australia captain Ricky Ponting will bat at number three and will be followed by Viv Richards and Kumar Sangakkara.

Imran Khan, who led Pakistan to their first and only World Cup title till date in 1992, will lead the side and is one of the two allrounders of the star-studded team along with Lance Klusener. Wasim Akram and Glenn McGrath have been picked as pacers while the spin department features Muttiah Muralitharan and Shane Warne.
