Pakistan fast bowler Ihsanullah opened up about his idol. He said that his role mode was Waqar Younis but he watched Shoaib Akhtar’s videos as he used to hit everyone on the head and break stumps. 

Ihsanullah is another promising fast bowler from Pakistan, which is considered the factory of producing pacers. The right-arm pacer impressed everyone with his breathtaking performances in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2023.

He was drafted into Pakistan’s T20 team after the PSL and so far has played 4 games in which he took 6 wickets. Ihsanullah came into the side with the reputation of bowling fast deliveries at good lines and lengths and so far he has been good at the international stage.

Ihsanullah was today (29th April) handed the ODI cap as well as he replaced Shaheen Afridi in the ongoing second game against New Zealand. Notably, the hosts are leading the series 1-0 after their impressive performance in the first game.

Ihsanullah talked about his role model and said that he tries to replicate Shoaib Akhtar as he used to break the stumps. Speaking in a video uploaded on Pakistan Cricket’s Twitter handle, he said: 

“My idol was Waqar bhai. I used to watch Shoaib Bhai’s videos a lot. He hit everyone on the head and broke the stumps. So, I tried to replicate him.” 

Notably, Shoaib Akhtar was one of the fiercest bowlers to have played in the game of cricket. He believed in dismantling the batting lineup of the opposition and also hurt many batters during his career.

Ihsanullah further went on to say that his home condition was very bad and his father sent him to UAE to work there but he followed his passion. He added: 

“My home’s condition was very bad. So my father told me to go to UAE and work as a labourer as cricket wasn’t happening. I replied ‘I want to play cricket, I want to play and will show you’. So now he is very happy.” He concluded.
