Of late, the classy left-handed bowler, Mohammed Amir has hit the downside bar in his career graph. His performances in the last few matches have not fetched any results for the team. Thus, he received a call from the selectors to perform in the domestic circuit to make a comeback in the side. Meanwhile, Kapil Dev feels it will do a world of good for Mohammed Amir.

However, it might be the blessing in disguise for Mohammed Amir, as getting back to the basics ahead of the 2019 World Cup might work in his favour. Further, being off from the game will also help the bowler to look over his fitness as well.

I personally feel Mohammed Amir is a good bowler – Kapil Dev

The former India great Kapil Dev feels Amir has pushed himself into a comfort zone. The Haryana all-rounder quoted the Pakistan fast bowler is a very talented bowler and has got all the ingredients to make a sound come back into the side.

Further, he insisted that getting dropped from the team will do a world of good for the Pakistani cricketer. Kapil Dev went on to add saying it is just a matter of time for Amir to get back his rhythm.

Speaking to Gulf News on the sidelines of Asia Cup final, Kapil Dev said  “Sometimes, fast bowlers go into the comfort zone. Perhaps dropping him can do a world of good to Amir. I personally feel he is a very good bowler but sometimes fast bowlers get into a comfort zone and stop performing. This is what has happened to Amir.”

“He has the ability and talent, moreover, he is a left-arm pacer. When Wasim Akram thinks he is very good, I have to take his word. If he feels Amir is good, he must be very good but however good you are, one has to work hard. I feel it is just a matter of time before he regains his form.”

However, as Kapil Dev said, it seems like selectors had made the right call with him to get sidelined. Meanwhile, this is also the best chance for Sarfraz Ahmed to look after the bench strength as well.
