New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson gave a perfect reply to Rameez Raja after the latter asked him how he felt to win the away series against Pakistan after a big gap of 49 years. However, Kane Williamson came up with a cheeky reply when he said he didn’t wait for 49 years as he is only 28 years old.

Meanwhile, New Zealand came up with a dominating performance as they won the third Test match by 123 runs. Thus, the Blackcaps sealed the three-match Test series by 2-1. Williamson was the architect of the final Test win as the Kiwis captain scored 89 and 139 runs in each of the innings.

Meanwhile, Rameez asked in the post-match presentation, “Kane, you had to wait for 49 years for New Zealand’s series win over Pakistan in Asia”.

Kane Williamson said, “I didn’t wait for 49 years (smiles), I am only 28 — (when asked about his wait for the series win against Pakistan away from home which came in 1969). Fantastic performance to be a part of. Pakistan are a very difficult team to beat and showed how strong they are in Dubai. We knew there was a lot of hard work to do. After the first innings, we felt we had a good total but Pakistan came back well.

Thus, Williamson took a sly dig at Rameez Raja. Meanwhile, New Zealand was able to tick the right boxes in the series. They won the first Test match by a narrow margin of four runs. However, Pakistan bounced back in the second match as they won by an innings and 16 runs.

New Zealand came back in style in the third and final Test match. The tourists won the final match by 123 runs to seal the series. Consequently, it was a fine performance from the Kiwis.
