Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) recently appointed Shoaib Akhtar as their brand ambassador. However, the decisions did not go well with the fans. They took to Twitter to express their views as most of them stated it as a bad choice.

Further, Shoaib also got the key post of an advisor to the chairman of cricket affairs.

Appointed as the brand ambassador:

PCB chairman Najam Sethi took to social media site to announce the news of Shoaib’s appointment. Meanwhile, Shoaib is a former Pakistani cricketer who had played 46 Tests and 163 ODIs for Pakistan.

Sethi announced the news on Twitter.

Shoaib Akhtar has been appointed Advisor to Chairman on Cricket Affairs/Brand Ambassador PCB,” Sethi tweeted.

However, the decision left the cricketing fans in awe. Furthermore, they criticised the appointed and stated he could not do good to Pakistan cricket.

Shoaib’s reply:

Meanwhile, Akhtar in a series of tweets expressed his delight. Further, Akhtar wants to do the work with the same passion he played for his country.

Looking forward to work with @najamsethi and #pcb to take PAKISTAN cricket to the next level,” Shoaib wrote in his first tweet.

Am honoured to be chosen for these positions in @TheRealPCB, will work with same passion as i did when playing.Thank you once again!” Shoaib added.

Meanwhile, Shoaib’s appointment raised questions with him being critical of Sethi. The ‘Rawalpindi Expresses’ once expressed Pakistan Cricket has deteriorated under Najam Sethi. Further, he blamed PCB for Pakistan’s debacle in the 2015 World Cup.

However, Akhtar’s exact role and job description are still not clear. Furthermore, his appointment proves his improved relationship with PCB chairman Najam Sethi.
