The newly-built stadium in Perth is highly likely going to host the first India Test against hosts Australia during its 2018-19 season which is going to set the remarkable entry for the high-class venue on the Australian soil.

The reports in Australian media suggested the venue will host the Test against India in the fourth quarter of the year 2018, as the stadium will be thrown open to host the first-ever international fixture (ODI) between Australia and England on January 28.

To be precise, with India scheduled to play the four-match Test series, the Test fixture is expected to be played in the last week of or November or in December.

Australia’s schedule for cricket is expected to come to the fore in February, as players are going to face the grueling season in March on the South African soil.

Earlier, the venue was supposed to host the third Test of the recently-concluded Magellan Ashes 2017-18 series, but that wasn’t possible due to the incomplete work at the much-talked-about arena.

In November 2017, the CEO for Cricket Australia (CA) James Sutherland alongside former speedster Mitchell Johnson has already made the announcement of the debut game at the venue which in Burswood.

“We haven’t seen any sort of material developments at the Gabba in terms of improving public amenity for a while,” Sutherland was quoted as saying by The Sunday Mail in late November 2017.

However, if India will play the first Test, it would be exciting set-up for the mega game for the two top-notch teams particularly in the Test cricket which is going to be a massive advertisement for the traditional format across the cricketing world.

“I would anticipate there’s not going to be too much problem there,” Sutherland said to the ABC in December regarding the pink-ball Test against India in Adelaide.

The stadium can host round off 60,000 spectators as the $1billion (AUD) were spent over the completion of the ground.

On the other side, Australia might feature in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) against Pakistan, as the schedule is slated for October under Future Tours Programme of ICC before featuring against the same opposition in the Test series in 2019.
