Perhaps, Australia would have never expected that a player, who is warming the bench would hurt them dearly on the field. But, unfortunately, it took place, as Peter Siddle dropped a dolly catch offered by Rohit Sharma off Nathan Lyon bowling. It was one of the easy catches that would ever come for a fielder in International Cricket.
Peter Siddle, who was fielding at the fine leg got a fairly easy catch when Rohit Sharma top-edged Nathan Lyon while sweeping the ball. Peter Siddle, who was a little bit of lazy in his approach shelled it out to give a revive to Rohit Sharma.

Rohit Sharma scored 63*:
After the incident, Rohit Sharma stood tall making things to happen for the Indian National Cricket Team. Of late, he was under pressure to knock runs for India, as he was regularly failing to stay in the team. Regarding the same, he lost his place in England tour as well, however, BCCI tried to give one last chance in Australia.
It seems like Mumbai batsman has done enough to secure himself in the side. He knocked a superb 63* in the first innings before India declaring the innings. It would have been interesting if Rohit Sharma was given chance to whack before declaring.
He remained unbeaten on 63* before India declaring the innings. It was a surprising call from the Indians, as they declared with three wickets left in the bank. It would have been great for Rohit, as he can whack it out when he was given the orders to go for a kill.
Perhaps, Virat Kohli would have tempted himself to get at least one or a couple of Australian wickets in the remaining six overs of the game. Ishant Sharma started the things brilliantly by hitting the right lengths but Australian openers were impressive in tackling them.
Here are the few Twitter reactions for Peter Siddle drop:
Bwahhahahahaha ! Tim Paine was provoking Rohit to the core and literally got the reward. Poor Peter Siddle dropped the simplest of catches. They should've fielded Archie Schiller in his place. ???? #INDvAUS #AUSvIND

Peter Siddle for Man of the Match : for his single-handed contribution towards keeping #talent in test cricket. #INDvAUS #AUSvIND @ImRo45 @ICC

@7Cricket Ricky Ponting suggested maybe a younger player should’ve been on as sub instead of Peter Siddle. Is Punter advocating the use of specialist fielders as subs? #garypratt

Dropping a catch as 12th man has to be the lowest point for a cricketer – you can't even make up for it with the bat or the ball!
Don't blame Peter Siddle for looking like he is about to cry. #AUSvsIND

WTF was Peter Siddle doing as a replacement fieldsman in a Test Match even if for only one over?
