PL 2018: Match 44, Kings XI Punjab vs Kolkata Knight Riders – Statistical Highlights
Kolkata Knight Riders stormed back to winning ways with a thumping 31-run victory over Kings XI Punjab in a must win clash. Put in to bat first, the Knight Riders rode on Sunil Narine and Dinesh Karthik’s whirlwind fifties to post a mammoth 245 for 6 in the allotted 20 overs. Narine scored 75 off just 36 while Karthik scored 50 off 23.
In reply, Punjab came up with a good performance but the 246-run target was just too big to chase down. The Ravichandran Ashwin-led side finished their innings on 214 for 8. KL Rahul once again starred with the bat for them, scoring 66 off just 29 balls.

The West Indies star scored 79 for Trinbago Knight Riders in Carribean Premier League last year. He also scored 76 for Dhaka Dynamites in Bangladesh Premier League.
3. Kolkata Knight Riders‘ total of 245 is their highest in the IPL surpassing the 222/3 in their first ever IPL match against Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2008.
4. The total of 245 for 6 is the highest in the IPL not to include a century. Overall, it is the joint second highest in the T20s. Sri Lanka had scored a mammoth 260/6 against Kenya in the World T20 2007 with the highest individual score being 90.
5. Andrew Tye became the third player after Shadab Jakati (2009) and Munaf Patel (2012) to take 4-wicket hauls in consecutive IPL matches. Tye also became the third player after Sandeep Sharma and Yusuf Abdulla to take two 4-fers in the IPL for Kings XI.
6. Ravichandran Ashwin recorded his highest score in the IPL. The Kings XI Punjab scored 45, surpassing the 33 he scored against Royal Challengers Bangalore earlier this season.
7. A total of 330 runs were scored in boundaries (35 fours and 31 sixes) in this match. These are the second most runs scored in boundaries in an IPL game and the fourth most in a Twenty20 match.
