Though there are specific talks on the survival of Test Cricket, here, there are few players, who are pretty much excited to play the longest version of the game to live their dream. One of them was Rashid Khan, who quoted that playing Test cricket against Australia in Australia is more than a dream for him in his cricketing career.

Afghanistan and Ireland have been the last entrants into the Test format of the game. After showing their brilliance in the shorter formats, they have been awarded Test status and already played their first game for the country as well.

Afghanistan played India in India while Ireland played hosts when Pakistan visited their place before locking horns against England Cricket Team. Meanwhile, the duo will lock horns for the first time, for which, India will be the host country.

Being a player, it means a lot – Rashid Khan

Meanwhile, the Afghanistan sensation, Rashid Khan reveals his love for the game and added that it would be a great thing to represent Afghanistan while playing Test cricket against Australia in Australia.

“From Afghanistan, playing Test cricket against Australia in Australia it’s more than a dream. Afghanistan got the full membership and last we played against India in India and now we’re playing against Ireland in India and then Australia here,” Cricket.com.au quoted Rashid, as saying.

Further, he went on to add saying that playing Test cricket is a huge honour for him. He also spoke about the conditions of the pitch, which will be tough for a batsman to survive in the middle.

“Being a player, it means a lot. Against Australia, playing Test matches is a huge achievement and me and the players are really looking forward (to it). We played here (in T20 games) a lot but, Test cricket is very different. Pretty excited to face the quick bowlers here, big bouncy wickets,” he added.

“As we have seen against India, I think wickets are very tough here to bat on, especially in the Test cricket. I hope that we don’t play in Perth, we play somewhere else on a good wicket to make some runs and a little bit good for the spinner as well,” Rashid said.

Well, it would be interesting to see how Afghanistan graph in Test cricket will be drawn in years to come. They will first lock horns against Ireland in India and then make their way to play against Zimbabwe, Bangladesh and Windies. They will play Australia after the conclusion of ICC T20I World Cup 2020.
