Indian women’s team leg-spinner Poonam Yadav has jumped to the third spot in the latest ICC’s Twenty20 International bowlers rankings after a solid show in the recently-concluded 2018 Women’s Asia Cup.

Poonam scalped seven wickets at an average of 9.14 to be leading wicket-getter in the tournament.

Thus, Poonam has 611 rating points under her belt. Australia’s Megan Schutt and New Zealand’s Leigh Kasperek occupy the first two places with 669 and 640 rating points respectively.

Meanwhile, Poonam’s best performance came in the grand finale against Salma Khatun-led Bangladesh. She took four for nine in her four overs quota.

However, her heroics with the ball went in vain as India went on to lose by three wickets. In fact, this was the first time that India could not defend their Asia Cup title.

Pakistan’s bowler Anan Amin is at the fifth place in the rankings ladder with 589 points. Windies Hayley Mathew has fallen down to the fourth place with 610 points.

Meanwhile, India’s captain Harmanpreet Kaur is at the seventh place in the batswomen rankings with 573 rating points.

The right-handed batter Harmanpreet scored 156 runs at an average of 52 to be adjudged the Player of the Series.

India’s former skipper Mithali Raj is at the sixth place with 584 rating points.

Windies Stafanie Taylor continues to be at the summit of batswomen rankings with 676 rating points.

Suzie Bates of New Zealand and Australia’s Meg Lanning and Beth Mooney grabs the 2nd, 3rd and 4th place respectively.

India’s southpaw opening batter Smriti Mandhana takes the ninth place with 541 rating points.

Rumana Ahmed, who was the star for Bangladesh in the final of the tournament subsequently jumped six places to perch at the 12th place in the all-rounder rankings.

The all-rounder had scalped two for 22 and scored 23 to be awarded the Player of the Match in the final before Poonam Yadav almost brought into the game.
