The air pollution in Delhi has again become a cause of concern for BCCI. The poor quality of air in Delhi could again have an impact on an international match that will be played on November 3 between India and Bangladesh. Presently, the air quality in Delhi is ‘very poor’ and the condition might worsen in days to come.

If it happens, then the smog and air pollution will have a big impact on the T20I. “Look, we have factored in the post-Diwali air pollution in Delhi but since the match is a week away, we are hopeful that the players won’t face any health hazards,” a senior BCCI official told PTI.
In 2016, two Ranji Trophy matches in Delhi were cancelled due to smog and poor air quality. In 2017, the Test between mach between India and Sri Lanka at Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium was marred by controversy when the Sri Lankan players walked out with face masks due to poor air quality. In fact, few of the players also fell ill.
Later, it was suggested that the board will not organise any match in Delhi in the month of November and December but the rotation policy has seen the T20I being allotted to Delhi.
As per the schedule, the Bangladesh team will reach Delhi next week. They will later travel to Rajkot, Nagpur, Indore and Kolkata.

Meanwhile, the visitors have suffered a big blow as Tamim Iqbal has pulled out of the series. He has been replaced by opener Imrul Kayes, who might also be retained in the Test squad as Tamim had already told the board that he would not be available for the second Test.
Amidst all the controversy Bangladesh players have started training after they called off the strike earlier this week.
