A list of five bowlers will fly to the UAE as practice bowlers for the Delhi Capitals, which includes Pradeep Sangwan and Pawan Suyal. Pawan Suyal and Pradeep Sangwan both have played in the previous IPL editions while the latter has plied his trade with stalwarts like Mohammad Asif and Glenn McGrath for Delhi.

The group also includes five others as designated net bowlers. The 13th edition of the tournament begins on the 19th of September.

A senior DDCA official confirmed to PTI that Pradeep Sangwan and Pawan Suyal are their net bowlers. The likes of Pranshu Vijayaran and Harsh Tyagi play in the Ranji Trophy while Rajat is a local club cricketer and Bobby hails from Uttar Pradesh.

Yes, Sangwan and Suyal are travelling as net bowlers. Pranshu is the third guy and even Harsh who now plays for Ranji Trophy is our boy as he represented Delhi during his India U-19 days. Rajat is a local club cricketer while Bobby is from UP,” the official claimed.

The official further stated that both the fast-bowling pair suffered a lot of injuries in the recent past and have to shorten their run-ups. The representative hopes that bowling in the nets helps their case.

Sangi (as his nickname is in Delhi circle) has suffered a lot due to injuries in past few years. So has Suyal, who has now cut down his run-up consistently after stress fractures and back injuries. Hope bowling in IPL nets helps them,” he asserted.

The official revealed that since Sangwan and Suyal are experienced first-class cricketers and provide good variations, their frontline players will have quality practice.

He hopes for left-arm Harsh Tyagi to have good exposure in the company of heavyweights like Ravichandran Ashwin, Sandeep Lamichhane, and Amit Mishra.

You need variation at training and hence Sangi and Suyal are on board. They are experienced first-class players, who will provide quality practice.

“DC has two wrist spinners in Amit Mishra and Sandip Lamichhane and two-finger spinners in R Ashwin and Axar. Harsh is typical shorter format bowler, who bowls the restrictive line. It would be good exposure for him,” the official added.
