Prithvi Shaw – An impressive mini timeline of his career so far; Perhaps, after Sachin Tendulkar, Prithvi Shaw is the only cricketer, who made such giant strides at the early stage of his career. He already acquired solid numbers in his kitty and all set to make his debut at Rajkot in the first Test against the Windies. Meanwhile, here is the short timeline of his career.

14-year-old: Gets the limelight with a scintillating 546

At the very young age, Prithvi Shaw shot into the notable names. He smashed a brutal 546-run knock in the Harris Shield Cricket thus letting himself know to the world of cricket. It was the first massive step of his career.

He smashed 85 boundaries and five sixes in the match that played at the Azad Maidan. During the course, Prithvi became the first schoolboy cricketer to hit a 500-plus score in an official inter-school game.

17-year-old: Makes the first-class debut for Mumbai

At the very young age, the right-hander made his first-class debut for Mumbai and stole the headlines in the newspaper. He took the world by a surprise by knocking centuries in Duleep and Ranji Trophies in the very same year.

It was the real moment of his career, as the century in Rani Trophy is always a dream for the growing cricketer. His heroics gave the officials a trust on him to nurture for the coming future.

18-year-old: Led India to victory in ICC U19 World Cup title

Then came the prestigious Under-19 ICC World Cup 2018. The young Shaw led the team from the front throughout the tournament. He also impressed with his willow at the top of the order as well.

As skipper, Prithvi scored 261 runs from six innings, becoming the highest run-scorer among Indian captains in the junior world tourney. He scored at an average of 65.25. The tally helped him surpass Unmukht Chand’s 246 runs mark notched up during the 2012 edition.

At the very same age, he bagged as many as five first-class centuries in his kitty as well. Adding yet another feather to his hat, he also grabbed the Indian Premier League contract for Delhi Daredevils as well.

And 18 years, 329 days – Shaw is all set to make his debut for India in Tests

The flamboyant batsman, who bagged bulk of runs under his kitty got picked for the Indian team on England tour. However, he rubbed his shoulders in the dressing room but hasn’t received the cap.

Meanwhile, Prithvi is all set to make his debut in the first Test at Rajkot against the Windies. However, he is the second youngest Indian after Sachin Tendulkar to play his first Test with fewer first-class games under his kitty.

Sachin Tendulkar played for India just after nine first-class matches while Prithvi Shaw has played just 14 games. All in all, it has been a glorious ride for the youngster so far. Hopefully, the youngster will make India proud in coming future as well.
