In a generation where cricketers are becoming greedier with each passing day especially with the inception of different T20 leagues all across the globe, there is one certain Wasim Jaffer who has kept money at bay and decided to play for the current Ranji Champions Vidarbha without taking a single penny. Jaffer who is the leading run-getter in Indian domestic cricket decided to play the last phase of his domestic career as a part of the Vidarbha team especially after spending several years in the Mumbai dressing room comprising of some big names in the dressing room.
Out of favour Indian opener Gautam Gambhir who is known to express his view through his social media sites said that he was proud of Jaffer that in a generation were greed and slyness is being identified with Indian cricketers, here is a cricketer who has proven that love for the game still exists in the country and money doesn’t come anywhere close to that.
Taking to his twitter handle Gambhir wrote:

There is no doubt about the fact that Jaffer is arguably one of the greatest first-class players of all time. He has gone on to replicate his performance in the domestic format also in the Test format, but he has failed to cement his place in the side especially on overseas tours where he has been found wanting in front of express quick bowlers of Australia, South Africa, England and New Zealand.
Jaffer in his brief Test career struck a couple of double centuries which came against West Indies in their territory and arch-rivals Pakistan in New Delhi. The innings against Pakistan was special as India hardly played their neighbors at that time especially in bilateral tours.
