PSL 2019: Karachi Kings Appoints Wasim Akram as President

Of late, Karachi Kings are coming with sensational news on a regular basis. Recently, they surprised everyone by leaving out Shahid Afridi and now, they signed Wasim Akram to be the president of the franchise. The owner of the franchise revealed the news via his Twitter panel.
Wasim takes Presidency post
Salman Iqbal Ary, the owner of Karachi Kings, welcomed Wasim Akram to be the president of the franchise for the upcoming edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL 2019). Also, the fans of Karachi Kings are elated with the news.
Digging into his tweet, it read “Sultan of Swing is The New King” … The Legendary Wasim Akram joins Karachi Kings as The President of the team! Welcome.”

Earlier, Wasim Akram handed his services to Multan Sultans, which is withdrawn now from the tournament. He also worked as a mentor and coach of Islamabad United in the first two editions of the PSL.
Karachi Kings left Shahid Afridi and Eoin Morgan:
For the PSL 2019, Karachi Kings have released players like Shahid Afridi and Eoin Morgan. However, the duo will be up for the grabs in the auctions, which are set to be taken place on November 20th.
Coming to the retentions, they asked Babar Azam, Colin Munro and Ravi Bopara to continue with the team. Meanwhile, Mohammad Amir is another notable name in the retailed list.

During the course, they asked Colin Ingram to be the brand ambassador of the team as well. Other notable names on the released list are Luke Wright and David Wiese, who were quite brilliant in the T20 ranks.
Earlier, to retain Shahid Afridi, the franchise asked Babar Azam to relegate into the Gold category. However, the number one T20I ranked batsman felt degraded and hasn’t accepted the plea.
