The Pakistan Super League (PSL 2020) Qualifier 1 was in action on Saturday as the Multan Sultans locked horns with Karachi Kings at the Karachi International Cricket Stadium. However, before the entire action unfolded, the players from both the teams paid a heart-touching tribute to the veteran Australian cricketer and commentator, Dean Jones, who had recently passed away.
Jones suddenly passed away due to a cardiac arrest in Mumbai. Jones was part of the Star Sports commentary team and was in a bio-secure bubble in a seven-star hotel in Mumbai. He was 59. The news came as a massive shocker as the Indian Premier League (IPL 2020) was underway when Jones’ tragic news came in.

The picture of the PSL players’ tribute to Jones is winning hearts on social media and has gone viral within minutes of being posted online.
It was taken just before the match started with Karachi winning the toss and opting to field first against table-toppers Multan.

Jones has played a total of 52 Test matches and scored 3631 runs at an average of 46.55. He also represented Australia in a total of 164 ODIs and scored 6008 runs at an average of 44.61. Jones also has a double century to his name in Test cricket and was among the first players to represent Australia in the limited-overs cricket.

Jones has been an active part of the global cricket media fraternity and has done commentary in various cricket leagues and tournaments all across the globe.
