Rahul Dravid Recalls An Incident When A Female Fan Refused To Leave His House

Rahul Dravid. What is that one thing that comes to your mind when you read or hear the name of the former Indian captain? The Wall? The epitome of grit, composure, patience, and resilience? Humble?
Well! Rahul is an amalgamation of all of the facts mentioned above. Indian cricket has always been blessed with brilliant batmen? And, the former Indian captain is one of them. Rahul Dravid was the pivot around which the fulcrum of the Indian batting revolved during his celebrated career.

Dravid, who retired back in 2012, has been a favorite among the girls courtesy his killer looks and humble attitude. During a 2016 episode of ‘What the Duck’, a show hosted by renowned stand-up comic Vikram Sathaye, Rahul Dravid narrated an incident where one such female fan of him came to his house to meet him but then refused to go back.
“I had just come from a tour and I was sleeping in the afternoon. When I woke up, my parents told me to go and meet this fan who had come all the way from Hyderabad. She was waiting there for an hour and a half. At first, I thought it would be a simple taking autograph or photograph thing.” Rahul Dravid said.
“She said, ‘no I am not going to leave. I have left my home and come. I will stay here only’ and I was taken aback. It ended quite well but it was a wake-up call for my parents that you don’t let anyone in just like that,” Dravid revealed.

Coming back to Rahul Dravid, the former Indian captain is one of the three players from the country besides Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar and the ‘Prince of Kolkata’ to amass more than 10000 runs in both Test and One-day International cricket.
Dravid hung up his boots in 2012 and has since then been nurturing the young generation of Indian cricket. Dravid was the coach of the Indian U-19 team that went on to win the World Cup in 2018 under the leadership of Prithvi Shaw. He is now the head of the National Cricket Academy.
