Rajat Sharma Elected as the DDCA President

India TV chairman and editor-in-chief, Rajat Sharma is elected as the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) new president. The results of the elections declared on Monday. In fact, Rajat was able to make a 12-0 clean sweep at the polls.
Rajat Sharma received a total of 1521 votes which is 54.40% in his favour. Furthermore, Rakesh Kumar Bansal got elected as the vice president with 48.87% of votes.
Rajat Sharma dominates the election.
Meanwhile, Vinod Tihara got elected as Secretary, Om Prakash Sharma is the new Treasurer, and Rajan Manchanda is the Joint Secretary.
Rajat had earlier said when he came into the election contest he wants to bring glory back to Delhi domestic circuit.
“I want to bring glory back to DDCA. DDCA has given world class players like Virat Kohli, Gautam Gambhir, Virender Sehwag, Ashish Nehra and many others. I want to ensure that this process continues. Our young cricketers get better facilities, efficient coaching, and transparency in selection. I will have a time-bound plan to improve infrastructure and the ground facilities.
Moreover, after Rajat Sharma was handed over the prestigious post in the DDCA, he gave his gratitude to all the members of the association. He also invited all the members to work as a team.

Meanwhile, the former Indian player Madan Lal was also in the reckoning. The former World Cup winner received 1004 votes. On the other hand, vice-president Rakesh Kumar Bansal received a total of 1364 votes.
