Wasim Akram. Waqar Younis. Shoaib Akhtar. Umar Gul. Wahab Riaz. Pakistan have produced some of the fine fast bowlers on the international circuit, who could wreak havoc with their bowling prowess, on their own.

But in the recent times, as most of Pakistan’s fast bowling ammunition are ageing, it looks like the future of their pace attack is in shambles.

However, fast bowlers like Shaheen Afridi, has shown their potential on the international circuit and Ramiz Raja believes the future will be bright.

The Pakistan Super League (PSL) has been a platform where there are a lot of local talents on display. And Raja, who was the commentator for the league feels there was high voltage fast bowling talent on show in the PSL.

“Pakistan’s future in fast bowling is fully perfect and filled”.

“We saw a high velocity, high voltage fast bowling in PSL. These bowlers used variations according to the requirement of the situation. This shows that Pakistans future in fast bowling is fully perfect and filled,” Raja was quoted as saying by the Dawn.

Ramiz Raja has watched and observed the PSL closely. Though the season was marred due to the widespread coronavirus, Raja feels, the PSL have provided with some gems in the batting department after four years.

He also named a few players to watch out for in the upcoming years.

“For the past several years we were eager to see whether the PSL would provide the country talent in batting or not. Finally, after four years of hard effort we’ve found young exciting batting talent,” he said.

“Haider Ali (Peshawar Zalmi), Zeeshan Ashraf (Multan Sultans), Azam Khan (Quetta Gladiators) and Khusdil Shah (Multan Sultans) played outstandingly in the tournament and could become world-class articles if proper attention was paid on them,” observed Ramiz.
