Ranji Trophy 2018/19: Goa Ropes in Mohammad Azharuddin's Son Asaduddin

In one of those surprising signings, the son of former India captain Mohammad Azharuddin, Asaduddin has been picked by Goa ahead of the 2018/19 Ranji Trophy season. They signed him for the upcoming Ranji Trophy season which is also a debut one for him as well.

Usually, the local state teams will prefer experienced players to sign from the other states, but Goa state has picked Mohammed Asaduddin who is yet to make his first run in Ranji Trophy.

Speaking of the same, the son of Mohammad Azharuddin added he was consistently performing in the local circuit. He furtherly quoted he has approached various states during the course as well.

Revealing his chances to feature for his native state, Asaduddin added he might not get a scope in Hyderabad. They have already got the players to fill the squad. All those circumstances left Asaduddin to find a new team.

”I was part of the IPL auctions too but did not get picked. I was playing well on the local circuit and approached a few associations. That’s how it happened. I did not get an opportunity to play from Hyderabad. So, whoever gives me a chance, I will play. And with all sorts of problems in the HCA, I don’t see a chance,” Asaduddin said.

Meanwhile, Mohammad Azharuddin is happy for his son. The youngster added it was a massive chance for him to showcase his skills as well. He wants to prove his mettle in the upcoming Vijay Hazare Trophy.

“My dad is really happy for me. This is a big opportunity for me. I will try to give my best in the upcoming Vijay Hazare Trophy,” Asaduddin said as per the lines on Sportstar Live.

However, it would be interesting to see how things would pan out for the youngster. Asaduddin will have an extra-burden to perform to keep his father’s name intact.
