“These days I am working a lot with Zak Pa (Zaheer Khan). His inputs have made a huge difference in the first three Ranji games. Rohit (Sharma) told me to have a word with him and it has worked wonders for me. Zaheer has truckloads of experience and is such a legend, he knows exactly how to bowl on these wickets and shares his experience fully. I worked with him for four-five days in Mumbai and can already feel a huge difference in my bowling. Besides him, I also take Ashu Bhaiya’s (Ashish Nehra) feedback regularly,” the 28-year-old from Chandigarh said in an exclusive chat after the first day’s play.

“Sharing stage with so many big players is always a great experience. Interacting with senior players helps to brush your skills and also gives a fair bit of idea about the important things that need to be done. I know now when I need to be relaxed and when to put in an extra effort. This has really helped me in my career and is the reason behind my comebacks in the national team.”

“Having played junior cricket with Virat, I know him quite well. He is just like a brother and helps me whenever I need any inputs. But Mahi Bhai (MS Dhoni) has been of a great help from behind the wickets. I keep on bombarding him with a lot of questions even now. The best thing about him (MSD) is that he tells you to keep things simple instead of trying way too many things. According to him, the style with which a player has got this far and now playing for the country should not be altered overnight. I follow his advice completely.”

Siddarth Kaul had an impressive season in the Indian Premier League. In fact, the fast bowler will like to keep improving his game to get back into the Indian team.
