Ranji Trophy 2018: Virat Kohli, Gautam Gambhir and Shikhar Dhawan Included in Delhi's Probable Squad

Amidst of hectic schedule, the reports by Times Now suggests the players like Virat Kohli, Shikhar Dhawan and Gautam Gambhir have been included in the Delhi’s Ranji Trophy probable squad for the 2018/19 season.

All the players are given a due date to attend the camp at Feroz Shah Kotla on September 5th.

However, as many as four players are busy working for the country in the series against England. Meanwhile, the young fast bowler in the side, Navdeep Saini will also exclude the camp, as he is plying his trade in the ongoing unofficial Test against Australia A.

The captain is yet to get announced –

Unlike every season, the official panel of the Delhi hasn’t announced any skipper. In the earlier season, they announced Virat Kohli as their skipper who eventually didn’t play a single game in the domestic circuit.

Subsequently, the captaincy reigns have been handed to Ishant Sharma, who led the team from the front. In his absence, the deputy, Rishabh Pant led the team, as Gautam Gambhir opted to field as a player.

In the limited-over series, Pradeep Sangwan led the team in the absence of the seniors.

Surprisingly, they haven’t named any skipper. Probably, Ishant Sharma would lead the team again. Meanwhile, Gautam Gambhir could also fancy his chances.

Virat Kohli and Dhawan might miss again:

Probably, the skipper of Indian Cricket Team, Virat Kohli and opener Shikhar Dhawan might miss the season yet. They are already carrying the heavy burden of international schedules, and probably, they won’t take part.

Virat Kohli last played for Delhi in any domestic circuit was way back in 2013. Ishant Sharma and Rishabh Pant could be available for few matches. Meanwhile, Gautam Gambhir will be available for the whole season.

So far, Delhi bagged the championship for seven times and was runner-up eight times. Last year, they lost to Vidarbha in the finale.
