Royal Challengers Bangalore endured a disastrous start to their innings in the eliminator against SunRisers Hyderabad in Abu Dhabi as Moeen Ali was the fourth wicket to depart for them. Moeen Ali found himself on the wrong side of luck as Rashid Khan hit the stumps off a free hit, removing him in the first delivery. SunRisers Hyderabad put the Royal Challengers to bat after winning the toss, anticipating dew.
The incident occurred in the 11th over when left-arm spinner Shahbaz Nadeem overstepped to allow Moeen Ali a start. Shahbaz Nadeem bowled a full delivery outside off that the southpaw hit straight to extra cover and ran immediately. Rashid Khan, who was the fielder, picked up the ball and threw immediately at the non-striker’s end. The stay ended for Ali in agony who replaced Isuru Udana for the crucial game.

SunRisers Hyderabad, who won the toss, made one change by swapping Sreevats Goswami for Wriddhiman Saha, who had to sit out due to injury. On the other hand, Royal Challengers Bangalore made four changes by bringing in Moeen Ali, Navdeep Saini, Aaron Finch, and Adam Zampa for Isuru Udana, Shahbaz Ahmed, Josh Philippe, and Chris Morris. The Royal Challengers had already lost skipper Virat Kohli, Devdutt Padikkal, and Aaron Finch with barely any runs on the board.
