Rashid Khan's Mother Passes Away After A Prolonged Illness

Rashid Khan, Afghanistan premier leg-spinner’s mother passed away on Thursday (June 18) after a prolonged illness.
The news was confirmed by Afghanistan journalist Jafar Haand via his Twitter account.
Hand took to his Twitter profile where he wrote-
*I regret to say @rashidkhan_19 , #Afghanistan #cricket Star, mother passed away. Our hearts are saddened by your loss and our thoughts and prayers are with you, Rashid Jana. May Allah rest her soul in peace.

Rashid Khan, then himself took to his Facebook page to share the tragic news with his fans.
“I regret to inform you that my mother passed away and I will be not having her prayers and best wishes anymore. My family and I are going through a difficult and extraordinary hard time. Please keep my mother in your prayers. May Allah rest her soul in peace,” Khan wrote on his Facebook page.

Recently, Rashid Khan had taken to Twitter to appeal to his followers to pray for his mother’s good health.
“Ya Allah! Give my mother a good health. Please remember her in your prayers” Khan wrote on 12th June.

Rashid Khan had lost his father in January 2019
This is a double jolt for superstar Rashid Khan as his mother’s unfortunate demise comes less than two years after his father passed away.
Rashid’s father died when the leg-spinner was in Australia, featuring for Adelaide Strikers in the Big Bash League. The leg-spinner, remained true to his profession, and went on to the play the game against Brisbane Heat, the following day.
Khan, in an interview, had revealed, what was going through his head at the time.
“It was tough. I lost my Dad, the one who is very close to us and to my family. He really supported us – he struggled a lot while giving up (a lot) with how he (raised) us. He was always watching my games, he didn’t understand cricket a lot but he just was always asking my family how I had done,” Rashid Khan had said.
“It happens. It’s life. In this situation, my family has really supported me… Especially my mum, my brothers, my nephews. They were encouraging me a lot from back home,” Khan was quoted as saying by India Today.
Meanwhile, Hashmat Shahidi took to Twitter to post his heartfelt condolences.
“Dear @rashidkhan_19 My prayers are with you and your family in these difficult times Allah(swt) may grant your mother the highest place in Jannah, stay strong.”
