Suryakumar Yadav’s non-selection from the Indian squad for the tour of Australia sparked widespread debates amongst the cricketing fraternity. Suryakumar Yadav has been a run-machine not only in the domestic circuit but also in IPL, consistently scoring over 400 runs in the last two editions. Following another match-winning knock against Royal Challengers Bangalore, Indian coach Ravi Shastri has asked the 30-year old to stay patient.

Suryakumar Yadav, who received the man of the match against Royal Challengers Bangalore in Abu Dhabi, hit the winning runs and stayed unbeaten at 79 off 43 deliveries. The right-handed batsman arrived at the crease at number three and stayed till the end, smashing ten fours and three sixes. He took his run-tally above 300 for the third consecutive edition of IPL.

The 30-year old has not yet played for India despite his ability to play sensibly and explosively. Yadav already has three fifties in IPL 2020 while his domestic records are not less impressive either. In 77 first-class games, he has 5326 runs at 44.01 with 14 centuries. On the other hand, Suryakumar Yadav’s List A career has 2447 runs at 35.26 with two tons and 15 half-centuries. Hence, several experts believed he needs to get a chance at present since the right-handed batsman is at the peak of his career.
