Patience and perseverance always lead  to the desired results and Khushbu Sundar, the National Spokesperson of Congress Party, will probably agree to it. The politician waited for as many as 33 years to catch a glimpse of former India cricketer and current Team India head coach Ravi Shastri and her wish was finally fulfilled recently.

A popular actress of the yesteryear, Khushbu could not contain her happiness and excitement after meeting the former Indian cricket star and took to Twitter to post three selfies with him.

“My dream comes true..finally I meet my #hero #RaviShastri..patience pays off..have waited for 33yrs to meet him.,” she tweeted.

A popular figure in the country for his on field exploits as well as his looks, Shastri was an integral part of the Indian team in 80s and early 90s. He represented India in 80 Tests and 150 ODIs, scoring over 6,000 runs in addition to picking up 180 wickets.

Meanwhile,  Shastri has begun his coaching career with Team India on a strong note. After guiding Virat Kohli & Co. to a historic ‘tour wash’ in Sri Lanka, he is looking set to guide the Men in Blue to another series victory against world champions Australia. India are leading the five-match series 1-0 after winning the opener on Sunday (September 17) and would be keen to extend the winning momentum in the second game too, scheduled to be played at Eden Gardens on Thursday (September 21).
