The biggest Cricketing event is knocking at the doors as teams have started naming their squads for the ICC Cricket World Cup, 2019. New Zealand, India, Australia and Bangladesh have already revealed the names of their respective 15-man squad. Meanwhile, India coach, Ravi Shastri has revealed the team that he thinks can go all the way in the upcoming World Cup. Hosts England will take on South Africa in the opener on May 30, 2019, at The Oval in London.

The tournament will last for 45 days with 48 matches to be played.  The format for the 2019 edition will see 10 best teams in the world going head-to-head in a round-robin format. The tournament will culminate with the fifth final at the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground on July 14. And as the cricketing world is busy speculating who can win the World Cup, Ravi Shastri feels England will be a team to beat especially in home conditions. At the same time, the former India allrounder said that all the 10 teams have the calibre to upset any team on a particular day.

England are currently the top-ranked ODI side in the world while India are just below them at the second spot. Since 2018, England won series in Australia and New Zealand before beating Australia and India at home. Moreover, they have looked almost unstoppable at home in the last couple of years or so.

“England have been the most consistent team over the last two years. They have multi-dimensional players. They have depth in bowling and batting. And they are playing at home. So they would start as favourites. But there are so many teams that can beat any team on a given day. In a tournament like the World Cup, you have got to be on top of your game every game,” the Indian head coach added,” Ravi Shastri was quoted as saying by Times Now.
