On Monday, Madhya Pradesh fast bowler Ravi Yadav etched his name on the record books by claiming a hat-trick in the very first over of his first-class debut. He achieved the feat against his native state Uttar Pradesh. Yadav dismissed Aryan Juyal, Ankit Rajpoot and Sameer Rizvi off successive deliveries to complete his dream debut in the Ranji Trophy.
In his first over, Yadav found the edge of Juyal, which landed in the hands of wicket-keeper, Ajay Rohera. Following the dismissal, Yadav knocked out Rajpoot and Rizvi in the successive deliveries–to bag the sensational record in his kitty.
Besides, BCCI shared the news to the fans via its Twitter handle.
Moreover, Yadav became the first bowler in first-class cricket history to claim a hat-trick in the first over of his debut game.
Former South African domestic cricketer Ricey Phillips (Border) was the only other cricketer to claim a hat-trick in the first over of his first-class cricket career. But Phillips claimed that achievement in his fifth first-class match.

Speaking after the achievement, Ravi said that he’ll sleep happily knowing he’s a first-class cricketer, something he thought wouldn’t happen when he was lost to the game for four years between 2010 to 2014 with injuries.

“I’m not sure if it’s good luck, fate or whatever, but this record has come against UP,” he told ESPNcricinfo.
“I grew up playing cricket in UP, but couldn’t get chances after I came out of the Under-19s, so it feels nice. I’m happy that I’m finally a Ranji player,” he added.
Uttar Pradesh had bowled Madhya Pradesh out for 230. However, Yadav’s hat-trick helped the hosts pull again a bit as they reduced Uttar Pradesh to 22/3 at stumps on an opening day.
On day two, Yadav added two extra wickets to his tally to pick his maiden five-wicket haul. He returned with figures of 5/61 and performed a significant role in serving to his side take a 14-run lead in the first innings.
